Susan D. MacMillan is high energy, approachable and a visible leader
who seeks input from her staff at all levels. She effuses enthusiasm
for her nurses and vows to treat patients as if they were a member
of her own family. Proudly, Mercy calls her their new senior vice
president of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer.
Susan's extensive healthcare experience gives her the skill and
ability required to balance patient needs and financial responsibilities.
Susan is described by peers as "honest, extremely loyal, hard-working
and respectful of her associates." She is credited with having
excellent communication skills, an ability to build teams, and is
a strong coach and mentor.
Susan has close ties to Pennsylvania, having earned her nursing
degree from Widener University, her postgraduate degree from Drexel
and her Masters from the University of Pennsylvania. She began her
career as a staff nurse, earned a national reputation as a health
care consultant and advanced to her new role at Mercy.
Susan MacMillan’s dedication to nursing is balanced by her
enthusiasm for life. She enjoys skiing, most outdoor sports and
special occasions with friends and family. Mercy's eyes are on the
future and Susan believes the Mercy RN sets the standard of care
that others will model.
