Mercy presently staffs 15 ORs and covers all specialties except open heart and transplant. Staffing is a 1:1 nurse/tech ratio. Our computer system automates the O.R. nurses' notes, surgeon specific preference cards and supplies.

A tech is in-house for nights, Monday through Friday. At this time, call occurs approximately twice in a four week period. One weekend shift worked or one weekend call is expected every four week period. Experience is a plus, but we will take RNs with no OR experience at certain times during the year. Those times coincide with the Chesapeake OR Consortium didactic classes. The duration of the internship is six months. There are 15 suites serving both Inpatients and Outpatients.
