Orthopedic and Surgical Specialties RNs conduct a 12-week internship with focus on more in-depth areas of study on specialized topics. This includes a rotation through the OR. Both areas practice in a model of team relationships with the presence of high level skilled techs working beside the nurse. The departments utilize the latest technology in patient care. Orthopedic staff have an opportunity to participate in community outreach by instructing in the Joint Effort Program, a program for pre-operative patients.
