The Progressive Care/Telemetry Unit at Mercy Medical Center is two units. One unit holds 32 beds and the other has 30 beds and includes inpatient dialysis. Telemetry technicians monitor patients 24 hours/day on the Telemetry Unit and also monitor patients remotely from the surgical units.  Progressive Care is located in The Mary Catherine Bunting Center, Mercy’s new main hospital which opened in 2010 and includes all private patient rooms, rooftop gardens and state-of-the-art technology.

The team has bi-weekly, multi-disciplinary conferences with Dietary, Case Management, Social Work, Pastoral Care, Nursing, and Rehabilitation services. Telemetry education is offered including didactic and clinical time and also through the Chesapeake Bay AACN Critical Care Consortium Critical Care Course, including cardiac rhythm interpretation class. Specialty classes are also available including defibrillation, emergency cardiac situations, and peritoneal dialysis for professional growth and enhanced patient outcomes.
